The above meal was prepared by Patryk and consisted of chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and parsley then wrapped with bacon and baked in the oven. Of course, there were vegetables on the side too...and the dessert of rum flamed bananas were amazing too!
Darren and Nicola reciprocated with a homemade meal of chicken vindaloo that made the mouth water. Our gourmet pizzas with pesto sauce, chicken, broccoli and feta helped ring in another year for Nicola's birthday weekend and our most recent gourmande festivities were very french, indeed. A lovely little French market came to town and I could not resist splurging a little so we feasted on 4 kinds of cheese, fancy sausages (including boar sausage!), pate, prosciutto, bruschetta and olives stuffed with garlic...just to name a few things. :)

Backtracking a little, my premiere gig here in England last month went as well as could be expected at a typical English Pub on a Friday evening - where most blokes have been pounding back the beer since 4pm in the arvo. Needless to say, the audience did not have the most rapt attention by the time I got there 5 hours later! I was just grateful to have had my own little support group. Thanks to everyone who made time to come hear me perform!

Seems that England also follows Murphy's Law and the weekdays have been promising, sunny and warm. Most of us were convinced that Spring had arrived with the blossoming of trees but the weekends have often been dreary, cold and stormy. But there are definite signs of Mother Nature waking her children from the winter slumber! On our daily walks to and from work, we get to indulge in splendid floral aromas along with a hint of the ocean scent now and again!
A year ago, we were fully entrenched in the Japanese Hanami (cherry blossom festival) celebrations. Here, there isn't quite that much attention paid to these beautiful flowering trees, but Adam and I still cannot help stopping and admiring them every chance we get!
April also rings in another blissful year for us and we got to celebrate the occasion with friends in full force! Usually, Adam and I go to a Korean restaurant each year to celebrate our "anniversary" but this year, the only Korean restaurant in town was closed for renovations, as we found out a few days later! We sure were glad that we had made plans with our friends and did not waste our precious 5th anniversary hunting down a closed restaurant!
Hmmm...what else? I do have to add that I have truly been enjoying my classes and it's been a real treat teaching all adults!
My students hail from all over - Turkey, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Poland, Venezuela, Ecuador, France...and I'm sure I am forgetting many too! Not only does it make for highly interesting and varied conversations, but all my students are at an advanced level so we can really get down to the nitty gritty!
Well, that's about it for now.
Hope everyone has been doing well and enjoying themselves.
Here is one more springtime picture to admire! :P
(Funny...I had started by saying I didn't have much to say and this is the longest posting yet!)
Much love, A&E xoxo
